Park Slope Tutoring

"What kind of tutor is best for me?"

It's a common question that runs through the minds of many students looking for academic support, and understandably so. Another question students frequently ask is,

"What if the tutor I get isn't a good fit for me?"

Chemistry is often cited by students as a major concern when choosing a tutor. Another problem that unfortunately rises up more often than not is the issue of subject matter expertise. For a student looking for expert help, nothing could be worse than working with a tutor that isn't quite the expert they claimed to be. When working with a tutor, the hope is that the person will be knowledgeable in their content area and be effective at explaining complicated material in an easy to understand manner so that the experience is as enjoyable as possible.

At Five Points Learning, our parents and students often share with us their frustrating experiences with other learning programs and tutors prior to joining our program. Hearing these stories we know how difficult it is for families to find quality academic support. At Five Points Learning we understand student and parent concerns completely. That's why we take all the pressure off of families by only offering experienced and qualified Brooklyn tutors. Our tutors are personable, experienced, and subject matter experts. Most of our instructors hold advanced Master's and Ph.D degrees in their respective academic fields. What makes Five Points Learning unique however, is not just our amazing tutors and staff members, but our cultural emphasis on helping students develop into successful people. We do this through a combination of mentoring and academic coaching where we motivate, encourage, and teach our students "How to Succeed".

We believe that good tutoring depends on more than just assisting a student with his/her issues on a particular academic subject. As academic coaches our tutors not only teach concepts and material, but they also set high standards for achievement and help students achieve lofty goals through relentless positivity, encouragement, and support. For us, it is not good enough to simply pass a course; we want our students to excel and we teach them how to do that. We believe there is potential in every student to be a top student at their school and we help students unlock that potential.

Our private office in Park Slope, Brooklyn is designed for small groups and private tutoring. There is never more than one tutor at a time and as such, there is never a need to worry about distractions like you may find in a more public space like a library or coffee shop. Whenever possible, we pair students with tutors that share similar interests and personalities. If your student has not developed the "chemistry" we believe is important for every tutoring relationship, we will gladly have your student work with another instructor free of charge. If your student still does not feel comfortable with the second instructor, the remainder of your tuition fees will be refunded.

In our program's entire history, we have never had a student or family seek a refund. At Five Points Learning, our number one priority is service, service, and service. We will do everything we can to make sure the learning experience is as fun and effective as possible.

To unlock your child's true potential, give Five Points Learning's Park Slope Tutoring a chance and watch your student truly blossom.
